Himalayan Trader 8 Ply cashmere blanket

The Thakali Himalayan Trader blanket is designed by a master weaver from the Annapurna region in Nepal. This style of Himalayan striped blankets have been hand woven on wooden back strap looms for centuries in the Northern Nepal and Tibet. Traditionally panels were hand woven and sewn together to make blankets, tents and bags for nomadic communities who herded sheep, goats, horses and yaks. I lived and studied in the Thakol region and Tibet and learned directly about their community, culture and textile traditions. This is an incredible textile but also a wonderfully, soft warm blanket. 

The Himalayan trader blanket is made with 100% hand spun cashmere yarn and hand woven on a traditional loom in one piece. The flat twill weave ensures it will endure for decades with proper care. It takes 4-5 months to make one blanket.
